**The Role**
If you are a skilled, customer-focused health administrator, interested in the challenges that come from managing a diverse workforce in a multi-disciplinary health centre, then this position as Simpson Health Centre Practice Manager, would suit you.
Reporting to the Health Centre Manager, you would be the day-to-day operational manager of a facility that provides medical, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, dental, rehabilitation, and in-patient services to a dependency of 900 Australian Defence Force members.
Located in Melbourne's north-eastern suburbs, you would be directly responsible for managing the administrative and customer-oriented aspects of the facility, as well as coordinating clinical outputs, to ensure that Defence members receive healthcare in accordance with policy.
You will manage the team booking health care appointments, undertaking medical administration, and liaising with internal and external health care providers. Coordinating new staff orientation, liaising with contracted service delivery providers, and managing a workforce consisting of military, APS, and contractors will form key facets of the position.
With strong written and verbal communication skills, you will be able to manage changing priorities and a high workload at short notice, and be able to work collaboratively within your team and with others.
**About our Team**
Reporting to the Simpson Health Centre Manager, you will be working with an integrated workforce of military, APS and contracted health staff. Simpson Health Centre is staffed by doctors, nurses, rehabilitation and mental health specialists, dentists, physiotherapists and pharmacists, and also has a small in-patient facility. Simpson Health Centre also conducts the Laverton Clinic and the Victoria Barracks Clinic Melbourne.
By supporting the health centre, you will be supporting the delivery of health care to serving Australian Defence Force members. The health and wellbeing support provided to Defence members at our health facilities is crucial to the capability of the Australian Defence Force.
The facility works collaboratively and collegiately to generate excellent health care results. The administration team assist with initial patient streaming, medical appointments, referrals, specialist bookings, and military medical administration processes and is critical to the health centre's functioning.
