What are we looking for?

Our land acquisition and general litigation practice group is now seeking a Junior Legal Assistant to support our team in Melbourne on a permanent full time basis.Our compulsory acquisition team represents claimants around the country but is primarily focussed in Victoria. We act in a range of compulsory acquisition matters, including novel test-case claims currently being litigated in Victoria. In addition to the compulsory acquisition work of the team, the general litigation practice offers a wide variety of opportunities for experience in both dispute and advisory work, including to NFPs and in the field of environmental claims. Existing work includes an environmental class action investigation and work for a significant Indigenous corporation on native title issues amongst other interesting matters.Work in a team with excellent employment benefits, a supportive team environment, and the intrinsic rewards of important claimant-focussed work. Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- File administration
- Diary management and arranging appointments
- Communicating with clients and other professionals
- Generating & editing correspondence
- Compiling court documents

What will you bring?- A diploma and/or experience in the legal field will be highly regarded but not essential.
- Experience in professional services or previous front of house reception experience preferred but not essential
- Experience with Microsoft office suite
- Exceptional communication and customer service
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- A willingness to learn
