Sydney, Australia Mercer Full time

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our Strategy team at Mercer Super as the Head of Business Intelligence. This role will be based in either Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office.

At Mercer Super, we’re building a safer, smarter, stronger future — for our members, our colleagues, our business partners, and each other. We don’t settle for good enough — we ask what better looks like, every day. If you’re driven by purpose and ready to make an impact, this is your moment. We’re looking for those who want to help shape the next chapter of superannuation in Australia.

As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive data and insights strategy that aligns with Mercer Super’s mission to deliver superior member outcomes and operational excellence. You will oversee the establishment of the Business Intelligence function, managing large-scale member and operational data while ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with superannuation regulations and privacy standards.

**We will count on you to**:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive data and insights strategy that drives superior member outcomes and operational excellence
- Establish the Business Intelligence function, extracting and presenting data insights from diverse sources to senior audiences, facilitating informed decision-making
- Collaborate with product, member services, compliance, and marketing teams to identify data needs and deliver actionable insights that support strategic initiatives
- Establish and maintain best practices for data governance, privacy, and ethical data use, ensuring compliance with APRA, ASIC, and other regulatory requirements
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts, data scientists, and insights specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to member satisfaction, retention, and financial performance, providing regular reporting and insights

**What you need to have**:

- Proven experience in the superannuation, wealth, or insurance sectors
- Strong skills in extracting and synthesising data from a variety of sources
- A comprehensive understanding of current regulatory, legal, and compliance standards
- A track record of successfully driving long-term strategic agendas and influencing decision-making

**What makes you stand out**:

- Experience in navigating complex organisational structures effectively
- A solid background in data analysis and interpretation that supports strategic initiatives
- Leadership experience that promotes collaboration and continuous improvement within data teams
- Familiarity with advanced analytics methodologies, including machine learning and AI

**Why join our team**:

- We support your professional development through opportunities for growth, engaging work, and supportive leadership
- We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can collaborate with talented colleagues to create impactful solutions for our clients and communities
- Our scale provides a range of career opportunities, along with competitive benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being
