THE ROLE
FRV Services Australia is looking for a
Senior Business Intelligence Analyst / BI Lead
to take ownership of performance analytics and business intelligence across our growing portfolio of renewable energy assets. This is a critical role ensuring continuity of asset performance reporting while also laying the foundations for a broader Business Intelligence function that will support Asset Management, Operations, Finance, and Compliance.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical and analytical skills with the vision to build scalable BI capabilities. This role will serve as the anchor of FRV Australia's future BI team, with scope to mentor junior analysts and shape the company's approach to data-driven decision-making.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Asset Performance & Continuity
- Monitor daily performance of FRV's solar and BESS assets, alerting O&M contractors and Asset Managers of issues.
- Validate EPC/O&M contractor performance calculations against contractual guarantees.
- Calculate and analyse performance losses across the asset portfolio.
- Support Asset Managers with contractual, regulatory, and shareholder reporting requirements.
- Set up and maintain access to SCADA, EMMS/MSATS, dispatching, and operational platforms.
- Review and support PVsyst simulations, energy yield assessments, and digital twin development.
Business Intelligence & Data Strategy
- Own the development of enterprise-wide BI dashboards and reports, starting with asset performance and expanding to finance, compliance, and operations.
- Build and maintain automated data pipelines (SQL, Databricks, cloud-based storage) to ensure reliable, high-quality reporting.
- Develop Power BI dashboards for executives and shareholders, integrating technical, market, and financial performance.
- Collaborate across teams to define KPIs and standardise metrics across the business.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual reporting.
Leadership & Growth
- Act as the
foundational member of FRV's BI team
, with scope to manage and mentor junior analysts. - Partner closely with the Head of Asset Management to prioritise analytics needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Provide ad-hoc support across business functions, ensuring BI is embedded as a trusted partner in decision-making.
EXPERTISE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5 years' analytics experience, ideally in renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure
- Degree in STEM, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Skilled in SQL, Power BI, Databricks (or equivalent); Python and PVSyst desirable
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
- Growth mindset, strong work ethic, and comfort working in fast-paced environments
