Our focus on quality and exceeding our customer's needs drives our continuously growing business. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Food Safety Technical Coordinator at our Canning Vale site to join us for a 6 month parental leave contract.

Reporting to the Head of Technical, based in Brisbane, this role's primary responsibility is to support the Perth manufacturing facility maintaining food safety and quality, auditing production processes, addressing issues and meeting customers' expectations through a practical, hands-on approach whilst maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

**In this role you will be responsible for**:

- The management of the site HACCP program
- Support continuous improvement through RCA,CAPA, and pre requisite programs
- Manage HACCP policies, procedures and document control as delivered by head office
- Monitoring products and processes daily to ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements
- Undertaking regular audits of processes and systems of work
- Investigating deviations from established standards and conducting quality assessments and reporting results to the Production team
- Maintaining quality assurance documentation and associated administrative duties
- Maintaining quality standards and determining corrective actions
- Ensuring compliance with quality assurance procedures and conduct on job training where necessary
- Using technical expertise when communicating with our vendors and clients to ensure high quality standards and compliance with all legislative requirements
- Being a proactive member of the Production team to ensure open communication, and to develop/recommend improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency

**To be successful in this role, you will**:

- Have experience in Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Have an understanding of quality assurance principles, HACCP and GMP
- Demonstrated strong Auditing skills and experience
- Be degree qualified in food science or a related discipline
- Be comfortable working at both a site and national approach level
- Have the ability to work unsupervised and exercise independence to problem solve and make decisions
- Have highly developed interpersonal and communication both verbal and written
- Possess the ability and willingness to liaise and work with team leaders and managers across the factory and other shifts
- Be able to work flexible hours
- Possess a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and ability to prioritise
- Have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and written
- Applicants who have worked in a previous role where HACCP or BRC (or a GFSI Program) have been in operation will be highly regarded.
