Who We Are

IMS Workforce predominantly work with clients in the Mining, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure and Heavy Industry sectors in Western Australia. We have a long standing contract that provides HSE advisors, Contractor Coordinator and Construction Coordinator resources to they Alcoa owners team at Kwinana, Pinjarra and Wagerup refinery's.

The Client - Alcoa Wagerup

Alcoa of Australia are a global industry leader in bauxite, alumina and aluminum products. IMS Workforce (IMSW) provides technical services to Alcoa with our teams embedded across all Alcoa operations in Western Australia.

The Role

IMSW has an ongoing requirement for experienced health and safety advisors.

Location : ALCOA -Wagerup Perth

Roster : Monday to Friday - 8 hour shifts

Responsibilities & Duties

The Heath and safety advisor represents Alcoa and is responsible for the following activities:

- Demonstrate safety leadership by promoting adherence to safety policies and procedures
- Assist with the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of health & safety management standards, procedures, tools & templates
- Participate in incident investigations and support the tracking of preventative actions
- Maintain integrity of data in the Alcoa's incident management database and conduct analysis to identify trends
- Educate and provide specialist advice and support with regard to all relevant health and safety legislation
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and other health and safety training programs as required
- Support the Health and Hygiene monitoring program by collecting samples and calibrating sample equipment
- Completing audits and inspections in compliance with monitoring program
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement and new health and safety educational initiatives

Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
- Incident Investigation Techniques (ICAM, TapRoot and/or 8 Steps/Essential Factors)
- Cert IV Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Experience in this role
