Permanent Safety Advisor role working residentially in the South-East region or Western Australia

**Your new company**

As an experienced Safety Advisor, you will be working for an owner operator for laterite nickel in an open-pit mining environment located in the Southeast region of Western Australia. Operations involve three open-pits, an ore processing beneficiation plant and includes purpose-built facilities for transporting product from the plant.

**Your new role**

As an experienced Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for pre-starts, toolbox meetings, safety committees; and coach supervision in soft skill and the delivery of safety messaging. Other duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
- Implement the RNO Health and Safety strategy using your coaching and influencing abilities to build engagement and participation
- Perform workplace audits and inspections as per the RNO governance and assurance schedule
- Champion the risk assessment process on site, lifting the quality and understanding of risk management principals amongst the workforce
- Lead incident investigations, coach the incident investigation process in the line; and assist with data entry of incident reports, injury reports and other relevant events into the INX system
- Maintain all safety records according to established procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness and privacy
- Assist in the development of graphs, reports and statistics for management, government bodies and internal use

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety
- Expert knowledge of relevant legislation (Mines Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations, Dangerous Goods Act & Regulations, Occupational Safety & Health Act & Regulations)
- Previous experience in a high hazard industry such as petrochemical or refinery highly regarded.
- Strong work ethic, high level of enthusiasm and autonomy, ability to excel in a flexible, fast-paced environment, balance multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
- Proven experience developing and building workforce culture from the ground up.
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
