The Learning Technologies Adoption Lead
position plays a key role in realising QUT’s
Real World Learning Vision and enabling
future-focussed learning and teaching
initiatives.

The Learning Technologies Adoption Lead is
responsible for working with the Director,
NextGen Learning, Curriculum Design Studio
teams, the QUT Academy for Learning and
Teaching and key staff in Digital Business
Solutions to maximise adoption and functional
use of learning and teaching technologies in
the planning and delivery of engaging
experiences for students and in academic

administration.

This position reports to the Director, NextGen
Learning for supervision, workload
management and for Performance Planning
and Review (PPR).

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Promote and embed the adoption of

learning and teaching technologies in the
delivery of contemporary digital learning
experiences.
- Partner, liaise, consult, negotiate, and

where appropriate, engage in co-design
activities across the QUT community

learning and teaching technologies
delivering engaging learning experiences.
- Provide advice on learning and teaching

technologies to ensure alignment of
services, Real World Learning Vision
realisation and the procurement and
management of technology, design
solutions and licenses to meet stakeholder
needs.
- Manage and maintain positive vendor

relationships and contracts to implement
innovative learning and teaching
technologies and harness new features and
upgrades to existing systems.
- Lead and manage project activities and

prepare documentation to support the
learning and teaching technology pilot
processes and governance.
- Report against performance metrics to

evaluate the use of learning and teaching
technologies across QUT.
- Maintain currency in relevant trends and

scholarship through continuous
environmental scanning in relation to
learning and teaching technologies in
particular with regards to the higher
education sector.
- Act as a conduit for new ideas, best and

emerging practice and policy and strategic
integration into the QUT ecosystem.
- Work in close partnership with the Digital

Portfolio Manager in Digital Business
Solutions to define and maintain
performance standards across all learning
and teaching tools and platforms.
- Compliance with health and safety policies,

procedures, hazard reporting and safe work
practices.

To ensure job flexibility the successful
- appointee may be required to:
- perform any other duties as nominated by

the University consistent with the relevant
classification descriptors detailed in the
Enterprise Agreement. Staff undertaking
any new duties will receive training;
- participate in job rotation or multiskilling in

consultation with their supervisor;
- work across campuses.

**Type of appointment**
This appointment will be offered on an
ongoing, full-time basis.

**Location**
Kelvin Grove campus.

Selection Criteria
1. Education, training and/or relevant

experience equivalent to postgraduate
qualifications, or progress towards
postgraduate qualifications together with
extensive experience in relevant learning
within a medium to large tertiary institution.

2. Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative
team environments, and develop and
promote a client centred, quality focused
approach to the implementation and use of
technologies in a complex pedagogical
environment.

3. Proven organisational skills and
experience in project and vendor
management, including the preparation of
submissions, reports and other complex
documents.

4. Ability to drive continuous improvement
through the implementation of
contemporary work practices and
approaches.

5. Demonstrated high level communication
and interpersonal skills, with proven
influencing and negotiation experience to
ensure delivery of high quality services.

6. Demonstrated success in identifying and
analysing current trends and future
developments in areas relating to teaching
contemporary technology, in particular with
regards to the tertiary education sector.

7. Proven ability to build positive working
relationships with a broad range of
stakeholders that support achievement of

outcomes in a high level interdependency
working environment.

**Remuneration and Benefits**
- The classification for this position is Higher
- Education Worker Level 8 (HEW8) which has
- an annual remuneration range of $120,338 to
- $136,408 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual
- salary range of $101,687 to $115,266 pa, 17%
- superannuation, and leave loading.
