About the Role

Our People & Culture team are currently seeking a General Manager to lead the Business Partnering function supporting our Telecommunications division. As a member of both the People & Culture Leadership team and the Telco Senior Leadership team, you will contribute to and implement business strategy, particularly in the areas of OD, transition of teams and individuals, leadership and general advice on P&C policy and process. You will also contribute to the wider business through the provision of interpretation, advice and coaching with key stakeholders and support the Company’s Vision, Purpose and Values.

Reporting Line: Chief People Officer

Key Responsibilities
- Effectively lead the P&C Business Partners across our Telco division
- Keep manager across workload and anticipated peaks and troughs to assist with effective resource utilisation
- Partner and support the Executive General Manager and his General Managers across the Telco Leadership Team
- Design and implement initiatives to support the delivery of the P&C/BU Strategy
- Provide expert advice and coaching on people related matters to drive individual and organisational improvement
- Coordinates the talent identification process and succession discussions identifying capability gaps, partnering with the business to build capability for now and the future
- Identifies local business issues/trends and designing appropriate solutions in consultation with P&C colleagues where appropriate
- Implements annual people calendar programs at Business Unit level

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong P&C Generalist background, with previous experience within a services/operations based company. In addition to the above, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

- Demonstrated senior experience as a People & Culture Generalist professional
- Experience with negotiating and interpreting EBA’s and Awards
- Demonstrate the ability to manage strategic issues and resolve complex problems with a high degree of autonomy, and independent judgement
- Effective negotiation skills to ensure early resolution of critical issues
- Preferable experience and/or understanding of the telecommunications industry
- Experience with liaising with union representatives
- Experience partnering with Senior Leadership/Executive level Managers
- Relevant tertiary qualifications are highly regarded
