The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Service Manager (Environmental Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Ensure the operational service meets the demands, peak, strategies and performance requirements of a large multidisciplinary Hospital and Health Care service
- Provide leadership to a large portfolio, ensuring a trained, flexible, and responsive workforce adheres to Cleaning and Infection Control Standards
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff within the portfolio, monitoring the performance of the team, ensuring succession planning and providing professional development
- Manage staffing, rostering and workplace issues requiring resolution in line with applicable awards and entitlements, including rostering and payroll investigations and resolution
- Analyse staff skill levels and service capability to prioritise and respond to increasing patient activity and service requirements
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be completed

Salary
- Temporary full time (12 months with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $94 221 - $98 920 per annum

The Environmental Services, Operational Support Services, People and Operations Division core service is to provide end to end cleaning, porterage, and waste management across the health service. The workforce profile is 800+ operational support officers and several administration officers. Environmental Services has an annual operating budget of over 38 million. Environmental Services has three operating portfolios. Each Manager leads a portfolio of 200-300 staff (Team Leaders and Operational Support Officers) for a general and/or clinical area and a matching annual budget of 7-10 million. Based in Southport and Robina.
