**The Role**

The APS6 Contract Manager is responsible for building and maintaining commercial and internal Defence stakeholder relationships in the delivery of MCPSPO Service offerings. They will build sound co-operative relationships with both their Suppliers and Defence stakeholders to ensure alignment of Defence priorities and capability requirements are understood by all parties. They will manage supplier contracts and performance and ensure stakeholder satisfaction is met as per service agreements. In doing so they use key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and challenge performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

They will use their sustainment environment knowledge to assure our industry partners meet the requirements of our Defence stakeholders. They will understand delivering services in a technical regulatory and integrated logistics environment, developing an extensive knowledge of the cross-platform environment they work in; undertaking a holistic approach to the position, to build strong relationships with stakeholders and providing excellent services.

**About our Team**
The MCPSPO within Maritime Systems Division, is the lead agency for delivery of cross-Class sustainment services and advice across the maritime environment. MCPSPO sustains and manages a range of complex military systems and supplies, through an extensive network of industry partners, domestic and off-shore. Our operating environment is complex and challenging, and requires exceptional contract and relationship management skills.

MCPSPO is comprised of three functions, including Commercial, Sustainment and Engineering cells. The teams work in a complex, fast paced environment as part of a diverse and inclusive Branch environment that encompasses a variety of knowledge, skills and experience within a supportive hierarchy. You will be working with talented colleagues, who will provide you with guidance and support to ensure that you have everything you need to succeed. The APS 6 Contract Manager (Supplier Relationship Management) will demonstrate the following:

- Knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the Defence Policy Procurement Manual,
- Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn and understand the sustainment environment,
- Ability to utilise contract management knowledge as a means to provide excellent service and build a strong relationship with our customers,
- Understanding or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of Seaworthiness and the Integrated Logistics Systems (ILS) approach within the SPO,
- Sound knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements,
- Ability to work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work,
- Excellent interpersonal skills,
- An excellent level of stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders needs and expectations to achieve work, unit and Defence outcomes,
- The willingness to learn and the ability to work in a team environment, and
