Then the Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) Ranger rehabilitation project is what you’re looking for

After more than 35 years operating as a successful uranium mine, the Ranger Project is entering its rehabilitation stage and offers an exciting opportunity for you to make a positive impact on the environment.

ERA has engaged the global engineering firm, Bechtel, to support ERA as Delivery Partner for ongoing study work.

Bechtel will be working alongside ERA and major stakeholder Rio Tinto to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park.

A collaborative project, this project will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community.

Located 8 km east of Jabiru and 260 km south-east of Darwin, the Ranger Project will lead the way in the fast-growing area of mining closures.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for **a Contracts Lead **to join Bechtel’s Mining & Metals ERA Project team in **Brisbane.**

As you will be required to effectively liaise with project Supply Chain personnel, corporate groups, functional departments global business unit contracts personnel, and other project supervisors, as well as maintain relationships with bidders and contractor personnel, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can work collaboratively and inclusively.

**Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)**:
Provides functional guidance and/or supervision to all contracts personnel assigned to the Project by performing the following:

- Ensures that project contracting of goods and services is consistent with all applicable directives, management instructions and procedures and that such requirements have been implemented in the assigned area or project contract operations.
- Provides functional guidance on issues related to contracts and coordinates functional activities with other functional managers. Performs formation and administration of all types of commitments when required by workload, complexity or other factors.
- Supports development and implements the contracting strategies, including the development and translation of the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule into a specific working contracting plan.
- Supports development of the contracts section of the Project Execution Plan and represents Contracts in operational and/or project reviews and audits.
- Reviews bid tabulations for accuracy, bidder recommendation, completeness, and approves selection of bidders within delegated approval authority. Ensures all commitments made by project personnel are accurately presented and follow established approval and signing authorities contained in company policies and procedures. Reviews and recommends bid selections that require higher approval authority. Executes commitments within delegated signing authority.
- Supports development of project contract operating procedures for review by designated supervisor and inclusion into the project contract/subcontract procedures.
- Supports development of contract project work-hour estimates and the contract personnel staffing plan to ensure staffing levels support project workload and contract personnel are added and released in an orderly manner.
- Provides support in the development, monitoring, and maintenance of project master contracts forms, including legal and commercial terms and conditions to be included in the project contract documents.
- Supports reviews of proposed negotiating plans developed by subordinate personnel in the commitment and resolution of commercial conditions of contracts, and participates in direct negotiations when required.
