**The Role**
As part of the Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) Branch you will work in a high demand service environment to assess claims for financial assistance made by employees who are owed employment entitlements after losing their jobs due to insolvency. A sound knowledge of workplace relations, or ability to quickly acquire such knowledge, is beneficial to those in the role.

Reporting to Assistant Directors and supported by Senior Claim Assessors, you will assess claims using information from claimants and insolvency practitioners and make recommendations that comply with the requirements of the Fair Entitlements Guarantee Act 2012 (FEG Act) to ensure timely and accurate payments to claimants.

As part of working in a large, complex program you will have exposure to all aspects of program administration including our robust quality assurance processes. This experience and exposure provides a sound basis for further advancement in APS roles.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of FEG claim assessors include:

- assessing claims efficiently, accurately and in accordance with the Fair Entitlements Guarantee Act 2012 (FEG Act) using available data
- drafting high quality claim assessments and letters using available resources and templates which effectively explain the rationale and outcome for recommended decisions
- communicating effectively with claimants and other external stakeholders to obtain information and documentation relating to claims and provide advice about the FEG Scheme.
