The Head of Technology Strategy and Innovation will lead an analytical review of current business and industry performance and develop improvement and growth recommendations. The role will identify and solve critical business problems through the introduction of innovative technology solutions across the Qantas Group.

This role provides strategic leadership for cross -functional management of information and technology across the enterprise. It oversees functions such as technology strategy, investment prioritisation, governance, performance management and definition of IT ways of working (e.g. methodologies, processes, and tools for developing and operating IT).

The role is also responsible for driving, identifying and developing technology transformation opportunities, scoping and then directing approved programmes and working in partnership with Business leaders, to implement strategic recommendations and realise value for the Qantas Group and customers.

The Head of Technology Strategy and Innovation will be required to build collaborative and constructive relationships with key business stakeholders and operate as a credible and valued business partner with the executives across the Group.

You’ll have:

- Significant experience (10+ yrs) working in Technology within a large multinational organisation, including exposure to commercial and operational teams
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, with expectation of post graduate study in Technology, preferably with broader business administration qualifications
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrable ability in influencing, negotiating, managing large teams, establishing and running cross functional projects/teams, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment, managing change and project Management.
- Substantial experience managing teams with complex workloads and competing priorities.
- Deep technology expertise with an ability to engage, influence and lead technology and business leaders.
- An ability to understand any business quickly and demonstrate to senior business executives an excellent grasp of what makes the business function.
- Extensive senior management experience gained in a highly complex information systems and technology environment.
- Experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of large scale, integrated IT systems across multiple hardware and software platforms.
- Demonstrated strength in leadership capability.
- Customer and results oriented, with a strong sense of energy and purpose.
- Experienced in strategic planning, budget and resource management
- A team builder and team player with a positive, pragmatic and collaborative operating style with the highest levels of ethics and integrity
