
Early Intervention Behaviour Practitioner

The Early Intervention Behaviour Therapist will serve as a team member and will be supported by the senior practitioners in the delivery of neuro-affirming Behavioural Therapy Intervention.
The Early Intervention Behaviour Therapist will act as a Key Worker and provide neuroaffirming multidisciplinary child and family assessments as guided by our lead practitioners, therapeutic supports, family support activities and education, and child
- and family-focused interventions. You will manage your case load and delivery therapy across a range of 1:1 and group programs for children and families. You will receive ongoing professional training to deliver therapy as a Therapist and ongoing learning from other Allied Health disciplines and Special Education Teachers within the team.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- Provides individual and group intervention (play-based) for infants and toddlers from birth to seven years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognitive, adaptive behaviour, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development.
- Assesses family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress. Participates in multidisciplinary assessments; selects and administers assessment instruments to assess behaviours function appropriately (as directed by senior practitioner);
- Conducting observations of child/client in educational setting to assess and observe behaviour.
- Assisting in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation the behavioural plan for each child/client on caseload (if required)
- Provides families with psychoeducation information on current progress and practices related to the needs of their child.
- Meeting regularly with stakeholders such other allied health practitioners, teachers, and family members to provide ongoing support and updates relating to child’s progress.
- Provides supportive professional assistance to families. Facilitates parent-child interactions to encourage child's development; encourages parents to participate in as normal a lifestyle as possible by developing family strengths and resources; assists families to act as advocates for their child.
- Completes reports, routine documentation, and management procedures as required by agency policies. Provides consultation, training, and screening clinics for outside agencies and interagency groups.

- Excellent attention to detail
- Completed/completing a Bachelor of Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy or Early Childhood Education
