An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Preschool Field Officer to join our Children, Young People and Families team on fixed-term, part time basis (16 hours per week) for 5 months.
Please note the start date for this opportunity will be just prior to the commencement of Term 1 2025.
About the Role
As a Preschool Field Officer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the capacity of early childhood education and care services to provide inclusive environments. Your work will support the wellbeing and development of children during their kindergarten years. You will provide consultative support, resources, and advice to early childhood educators, ensuring that children with additional needs can access and participate fully in their educational experiences.

You are a proactive communicator, skilled in building relationships and fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will assist services with funded kindergarten programs in Boroondara, helping them respond to the needs of children by creating high-quality, inclusive environments. You will engage with these services, providing information and addressing questions about the Preschool Field Officer Program. You will accept and act on referrals from early childhood services, families, and specialist agencies, developing strategies to encourage participation by children with disabilities, children from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, culturally and linguistically diverse families, and children at risk.
You will offer professional guidance, information, and support to educators on planning, implementing, and reviewing developmentally appropriate inclusive programs. You will provide resources and information to help educators meet the needs of children requiring additional support. Additionally, you will assist services in identifying professional development needs and opportunities for their staff.
Employment Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education.
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check and hold a valid Working with Children Clearance.
