**Principal Procurement Officer | A07 l 12 month contract | Brisbane CBD**
**The Role**
Our Queensland Government client is seeking a Principal Procurement Officer to provide strategic and tactical analysis and procurement planning, category management, strategy development and implementation and the provision of expert knowledge and advice to various stakeholders, departmental business groups and a network of procurement officers.
**Duties include**:
- Develop and execute plans and issue guidance in support of the Queensland Economy to provide local suppliers greater access to opportunities created through government investment in the region.
- Actively increase the Department’s level of procurement spend with Queensland small and medium enterprises.
- Conduct and lead tender management from procurement planning through to contract award, contract management and administration.
- Provide procurement advice to stakeholders and exercise procurement authorisation.
- Initiate and project manage reviews of procurement systems and processes and identify strategies for improvement.

- A high level of technical and specialist procurement expertise.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge and expertise of purchasing staff in delivery of procurement practices.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to increase supply chain efficiencies.
- Identify and leverage opportunities for cost savings opportunities and streamlining of key procurement activities.
