**_Where you’ll be working_**

The Cancer Institute NSW is the NSW Government’s cancer control agency, established to lessen the impact of cancer across the state.

**_ What you’ll be doing_**

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that all data-related initiatives are aligned with data policies, practices and strategies. The role will focus on facilitating cross-organisation collaboration between data teams, ensuring strong connections between business units and data teams and upskilling staff in data literacy and data governance to ensure the effective delivery of the goals of the NSW Cancer Plan.

In addition to base salary:

- 11.5% superannuation
- 4 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% leave loading)
- 10 days sick leave
- 40 hours per week which include accrual of monthly Allocated Day Off (ADO) x 12 per year.

**_Essential requirements_**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Substantial experience working in a data team (e.g. data governance, engineering, reporting, analytics, data science, epidemiology, biostatistics or research) in a health or social policy context.
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of project management and implementation including management of multiple and concurrent complex projects with conflicting milestones and deadlines and leading multidisciplinary project teams. This includes the ability to motivate and influence staff collaborating on projects, particularly those who may not have direct reporting relationship.

- Please describe a time when you had to act as a liaison between technical data teams and non-technical stakeholders? How did you ensure both sides were aligned and able to collaborate effectively? How did you ensure stakeholder needs, concerns and priorities were understood and addressed?
- Please outline your experience in leading a team through a significant change related to data systems, tools, or processes. How did you manage resistance and ensure adoption? How did you assess readiness and what training/support did you provide?
