**How will I help?**

Reporting to the Senior Manager Credit, you will be responsible for providing leading risk oversight, insight and control by achieving critical business and portfolio outcomes, including risk / reward and operational risk effectiveness.

Key to your success will be your proven ability to engage and influence through your demonstrated strong credit risk assessment and evaluation skills.

Please note the team collaborates together in the office on Monday and Tuesdays.

Your responsibilities include:

- Providing professional and proactive management of the commercial property portfolio to ensure optimal credit quality and effective account control.
- Maintaining the organisation's credit standards and business service quality by ensuring all credit decisions are soundly based, involve appropriate oversight and reflect the organisation's current underwriting standards, policies and risk appetite for the segment.
- Ensuring that credit decisions are communicated in a constructive manner with consideration of suggestions or alternatives to make the risk acceptable.
- Providing regular insight of local portfolio to recognise and monitor trends, loss / provision ratios, early identification of deteriorating credits, risk / reward returns and remedial strategies and reviews these as appropriate.
- Maintaining a partnership approach to achieve the best outcomes for customers and the organisation.
- Identifying barriers that undermine working collaboratively with bankers and escalates as appropriate to resolve.
- Advocating a one team culture and delivers credit coaching to embed process improvement and build credit skills capability for bankers.
- Adopting a team approach to workflow management in line with broader team priorities which may evolve or vary over time.

**What do I need?**
- Significant banking/financial services experience across a broad range of disciplines with at least 5 years experience originating and/or approving credit transactions within Property segments.
- Resilience to deal with competing opinions and tight timeframes.
- Commitment to self-management, flexibility and an organised and disciplined operating rhythm.
- Contributes to a strong risk culture through an open mind to continuous improvement and changes.
- Sound, communication, and relationship building capabilities enabling an inclusive and collaborative approach in day to day activities.
