**About the Role**:
We're seeking a dynamic Coordinator of Academic Engagement to join our team at Archives and Special Collections (ASC). In this new role, you'll be the bridge between our rare and significant collections and the university's curriculum, collaborating closely with faculty and students to enhance their educational experience.

You'll lead the charge in developing innovative programs that utilise ASC's assets, fostering object-based learning, peer-to-peer engagement, and work-integrated learning experiences. Your work will be pivotal in aligning ASC initiatives with the university curriculum, and integrating our collections into educational programs. As a liaison between ASC, university academics and Scholarly Services Teaching and Learning teams, you'll champion a scalable model for academic engagement, advising on curriculum design and reporting on program successes.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Enhancing teaching and learning outcomes by crafting and implementing a scalable strategy that integrates ASC collections into the university curriculum through object-based learning, peer engagement, visual thinking strategies, and human-centred design

- Working closely with academic professionals and liaising with Scholarly Services to co-create a focused, interdisciplinary curriculum that seamlessly integrates scholarly, collection-based resources into student coursework.
- Leading teaching and learning initiatives at ASC, overseeing their development, implementation and improvement to the longevity and excellence of our innovative academic engagement framework.

**Who We Are Looking For**
We're on the lookout for a seasoned professional who brings a wealth of experience in crafting and delivering university-level educational programs. Your expertise will shine in interpreting historical, archival, and cultural collections, and you will show a deep understanding of pedagogical theory and modern teaching models.

We're seeking someone passionate about innovative approaches to teaching with cultural collections. You will use your high-quality communication skills to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and collaborate effectively across various departments. As a representative of ASC, you'll need to be adept in planning and monitoring team activities, and the capacity to work autonomously and within teams. You will also have:

- Post-graduate qualifications in education, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience/education/training, particularly within the context of historical, archival and cultural collections.
- Tertiary qualifications and professional experience in education, arts or cultural heritage management, museum studies, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience/training
- Demonstrated ability to plan and evaluate programs and work to timelines.
- Understanding of the skills required for the handling and display of works of material culture, including packing/unpacking, movement, storage, and presentation

Archives and Special Collections (ASC) develops, provides care for, and facilitates access to the University of Melbourne Archives, Rare Books, Prints and Drawings, Rare Music, Maps and East Asian collections. The department is led by the Associate Director, Archives and Special Collections and University Archivist. The department sits within Research and Collection Stewardship, a sub-portfolio of Scholarly Services led by the Director and University Librarian.
