**About the Role**
The Academic Outreach Officer collaborates across Archives and Special Collections (ASC) to enhance interdisciplinary academic and co-curricular engagement with ASC’s unique assets. The role administers strategic outreach initiatives, including experiential learning programs, symposia, fellowships, and scholarships, to support student access and engagement. Working closely with ASC staff, faculty, and student groups, the position drives innovative outreach programming that aligns with the curriculum and ASC’s broader initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Support collections-based teaching and learning outcomes by contributing to the development of and administering a scalable, strategic framework for student outreach and co-curricular engagement, aligning academic programming with ASC initiatives.
- Seek opportunities to facilitate sustainable delivery of work-integrated learning, mentoring, volunteer programming, career and professional development with ASC collections. Contribute to the planning and coordination of sustainable student outreach initiatives with ASC collections
- Coordinate requests for student placements, collaborating with ASC staff to implement induction, on-boarding and training. Act as student liaison, adhering to all obligations, responsibilities and requirements under relevant legislation and guidelines, upholding high standards of conduct and expertise in accordance with accepted international best practice standards.
- Coordinate the delivery of fellowship, scholarship, and residency programs, monitoring deliverables, budgets, and resources in a sustainable manner, in consultation with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

**Who we are looking for**

You will also have:

- A tertiary qualification and professional experience in education, arts or cultural heritage management, museum studies, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience/training.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of events and outreach programming, including educational, vocational and engagement programs for university audiences.
- Demonstrated understanding of audience development frameworks, particularly as applies within the context of universities, cultural organisations or the GLAM sector.
- Demonstrated experience in collecting, analysing and utilising a range of quantitative and qualitative data to review and evaluate audience engagement and access activities; a familiarity with Human-Centred Design and User Experience frameworks.
