Regulatory Policy Officer

The Regulatory Policy Officer (RPO) supports the development of contemporary policy and strategy to support the Earth Resources Regulator (ERR) to adopt a risk-based regulatory approach. Working with internal and external stakeholders and other regulatory agencies, the RPO coordinates and provides a range of briefings and advice for the Department's Executives and management drawing on regulatory best practice principles and examples to support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the regulatory strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the regulation of Victoria's earth resources sector, at a time of significant growth, as we transition towards a duties-based regulatory model. You will be at the forefront of designing innovative regulatory strategies that ensure earth resources activities are conducted safely to protect people, property, infrastructure and the environment.
**Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications**
- Demonstrated experience in supporting delivery of contemporary program, policy reform.
- Sound research and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex policy issues.
- A relevant tertiary qualification would be well regarded.
**This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is**8 Nicholson Street, Melbourne**with hybrid work arrangements available.**
