About the Role
As Principal Investigator, you will work within the QLeave's Contract Cleaning Industry Surveillance team and will be undertaking surveillance and compliance activities to ensure employers are registered and levy payments are made as required by the Contract Cleaning Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2005. Reporting to the Manager Contract Cleaning Industry Surveillance, your focus will include:
High quality investigations
Compliance and enforcement
Complex research and reviews
Guidance and mentorship of a small team
Provision of expert advice
Your Responsibilities
**In this role, you will**:
Provide expert advice, guidance, leadership, supervision and support a small team of investigators and an intelligence officer in undertaking compliance and investigation activities to a high-quality standard.
Support the manager, mentor and coach team members in responding to potential legislative breaches to ensure consistent and proportionately responsive compliance in partnership with other internal business units.
Respond to and investigate alleged breaches of legislation including assisting with planning, information and evidence gathering, surveillance, compliance activities and preparation of matters to refer to the Enforcement Team.
Monitor and assist with data input, collection, intelligence and analysis to support the identification, assessment process, management and monitoring of the contract cleaning industry.
As appropriate, exercise powers of an authorised officer under the Contract Cleaning Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2005. The role may include exercising powers under the Building and Construction Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 1991 and Community Services Industry (Portable Long Service) Act 2020.
Monitor compliance and investigation outcomes to identify potential or emerging trends requiring intervention and response.
What We're Looking For
**We are seeking a dynamic Principal Investigator with**:
Highly developed compliance, investigation, analytical and evidence gathering experience, knowledge and skills.
High level verbal and written communication skills, negotiation and influence skills to effectively communicate and resolve disputes, to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
The ability to lead high performing teams, mentor and coach investigators to develop capability, lead field/site inspections, support others and improve efficiencies through effective planning, allocation and monitoring resources to achieved desired outcomes.
Flexibility, resilience and proven ability to advance an organisational culture that values performance, innovation, continuous improvement and best practice outcomes.
Applicants must have a 'C' class licence. Please note that intrastate and overnight travel is required for this role up to 3-4 days at a time, several times a year.
Highly Regarded Qualifications
**While not mandatory, the following will be an advantage**:
A Certificate IV in Government Investigations, Diploma of Government (Investigation), Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Justice or similar qualification would be highly regarded.
It is desirable to have previous experience in investigation management, investigations, brief management and providing oral evidence in court.
