Accounts and Payroll Officer

The Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer will aid the Finance team in providing accounts administration solutions across the portfolios. This role will be responsible for the financial, administrative, and clerical support of Good Cycles.
**Objectives**
- Fortnightly payroll is completed accurately_
- Collect and verify timesheets through numerous technology environments
- Liaise with various external stakeholders for variations or confirmations
- Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll runs within agreed timelines
- Process payments to ATO and salary packaging partners
- Accounts Receivable and Payable_
- Receive, verify, and accurately input supplier invoices into Xero
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving reports to ensure proper authorisation and accuracy
- Ensure invoices are appropriately coded to the General Ledger
- Prepare and generate accurate customer invoices
- Process and accurately post incoming customer payments
- Monitor accounts receivable aging report and proactively follow up on overdue accounts, escalating when required
- Data Accuracy and completeness_

- Payments issued on time or prior to the due date
- Develop automated procedures and monitoring
- General administrative and clerical duties undertaken_

**Example regular responsibilities and tasks**
- Accounts payable, processing creditors, ensuring on-time payment to suppliers
- Accounts Receivable, preparing the information, processing invoices, debt collection
- Assist Finance Manager with weekly/monthly cash, bank and account reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of financial accounts
- Assisting Finance Manager to compile all data to satisfy audit requests
- Chasing operational staff for timesheets
- Assist with and support the payroll function
- Supporting month-end/year-end close
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Support the broader finance team
- Any other reasonable tasks as requested
**Education and Experience**
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- (preferred) 2+ years accounting and bookkeeping experience in a medium to large company
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or higher required.
- (preferred) Prior experience using Xero Accounting software and Employment Hero
- Proficiency with administrative processes and tools including Google suite, MS Office and/or comparable software packages
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills and a creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
- Experience in Indigenous and/or multicultural contexts, youth services and/or social enterprise and skills in languages other than English are valued
