About the Role (your why)
The Compliance Manager, Risk and Operational Governance plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and accountability of an organization. They are responsible for ensuring that the account adheres to all relevant regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. This involves monitoring and evaluating compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, implementing effective governance frameworks, and promoting a culture of ethical behaviour and risk awareness. By doing so, the Compliance Manager helps to mitigate risks, prevent legal issues, and ensure the organization operates within the bounds of the law and industry standards.
Please note that due to customer requirements, this role requires Australian Citizenship with a Government NV1 Security Clearance.
What you’ll do
The Compliance Manager, Risk and Operational Governance is responsible for managing, assessing, and reporting on Datacom’s day-to-day compliance, while assisting Technical Operations Leads, Service Delivery Managers, Security Manager, and Account Managers in addressing compliance issues. The role will ensure risk assurance through the control, analysis, treatment, monitoring, and reporting of risks related to core business operations. In addition to this, monitor, review, and report on risks, providing recommendations on Datacom guidelines and policies. Further duties will include:

- Assist in the operational risk reviews, offering advice on assurance mapping, and aiding in the implementation of process improvements.
- Design, implement, and develop compliance policies, frameworks, and processes, proactively seeking enhancements to improve service quality and reduce business costs.
- Collaborate with delivery teams, you will formalize action plans, identify gaps, and resolve roadblocks to enhance compliance posture.
- Act as the integration point between customers, Datacom teams, and key vendors, you will ensure solutions meet customer business needs and challenges.
- Ensure Datacom’s contractual obligations are met, work on diverse problems requiring data analysis, and analyze existing operational processes using data analysis, observation, interviews, and policy reviews.

What you’ll bring
A successful Compliance Manager must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent written and oral communication abilities. You are adept at presenting technical information effectively across various levels, ensuring that complex concepts are aligned with client business goals and objectives. Additionally, you must be capable of chairing meetings and providing clear direction on compliance and risk issues. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, enabling you to build key relationships and influence stakeholders effectively.
To be successful in this role you’ll bring at least 5 years' experience with ITIL Incident Management, Problem Management and Continuous Improvement processes with at least 2+ years’ experience working in a Compliance Management / Risk Governance role.
