About the role
This full-time Work Health Safety and Compliance Manager position at Dale and Hitchcock Civil Pty Ltd in Canberra, ACT is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for overseeing health, safety and compliance across the organisation. You will play a critical part in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and compliance of our construction teams and civil projects.
The role includes
- Developing, implementing and continuously improving health, safety and compliance policies, procedures and systems
- Conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations to identify and mitigate risks
- Providing training and coaching to managers and workers to promote a strong safety culture
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, regulations and company requirements
- Collaborating with project teams to integrate safety considerations into planning and delivery
- Reporting on health, safety and compliance performance to senior management
- Staying up to date with changes in regulations and industry best practices
What we're looking for
- Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, or related discipline
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in a similar health, safety and compliance role, ideally within the construction & civil industry
- In-depth knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, regulations and standards along with the management of mobile plant
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective health and safety management systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively at all levels of the organisation.
- Proactive, practical and solutions oriented and committed to continuous improvement
