A Canberra commercial and multi-residential building company are seeking an immediate HSEQ Compliance manager

**Your new company**

Hays are partnering with a family owned and operated Canberra construction company.

This company has been a part of the growth within the ACT construction & property industry for over 40 years. They focus on the build & management of small to large scale projects including commercial, retail, residential and complex specialist projects. With a true eye for detail & quality construction they have built long-lasting relationships across Canberra.

They are now looking for a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Manager to join the team

**Your new role**

You will be working closely under the Directors and alongside the Project teams, where you will be in charge of all HSEQ & compliance. Your daily duties will include however not limited to;
- Conducting quarterly audits throughout the lifetime of a project;
- Investigate and report incidents and near misses, identify actions & make improvements;
- Manage any RTW matters ensuring return to work programs are managed effectively;
- Monitor and continually improve policies and procedures to ensure they are effective and compliant to corporate requirements as well as legislative requirements; and
- Improving safety performance by developing and implementing HSE policies, plans, programs, SOP’s, SWI’s and systems to meet organisational objectives.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of HSEQ management in line with the construction industry
- Certificate IV or higher for Workplace, Health and Safety;
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of legislative, regulatory and standard requirements including the Australian Building and Construction Commission, Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner;
- Asbestos Awareness, White Card & Crystalline Silica tickets or willing to obtain; and
- Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
