Key responsibilities of this role-Lead the development of whole-of-government policy processes to improve economic participation outcomes and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Indigenous businesses.Prepare complex and substantial reports, submissions, briefs, procurement documentation, memoranda and correspondence relating to economic policy.Manage strategic policy and engagement activities across the unit, stakeholder mapping, preparing communications to stakeholders (internal and external) and responding to stakeholder queries, provide briefings and support for meetings with stakeholders.Develop strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support economic policy outcomes.Provide leadership, complying with relevant human resource and financial standards, encouraging staff participation and teamwork, and providing effective supervision of and guidance to staff by facilitating support and development.Research, write, analyse, review and edit written material, including executive correspondence and briefings, Cabinet materials, media releases, speeches, presentations and a broad range of communications for various audiences.Lead and ensure the delivery of strategic communications and stakeholder engagement to achieve the department's strategic objectives and meet whole-of-government requirements.Use existing systems to support streamlined communication approaches across the department, to other government agencies, and stakeholders both internal and external.All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work with the department.Applications to remain current for 12 months.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
