In the role of Manager (Economics) you are responsible for delivering robust economic analysis and advice associated with strategic projects, policy, frameworks, and programs that provide direction for the development of the transport system in Queensland.
**Some of your responsibilities will include**:

- Leading economic analysis and research projects related to strategic transport issues to support the direction for the transport system in Queensland, ensuring collaboration and input from various TMR stakeholders.
- Performing research tasks to contribute to the development of robust transport project and policy evaluation techniques and guidelines.
- Leading a team of analysts and researchers within the Economic Analysis and Research unit to deliver business outcomes, including the coordination of day-to-day resourcing requirements, and creating a positive work environment that supports continuous improvement.
- Leading the preparation of timely and well researched cabinet submissions, briefs and/or policy documents, and provide authoritative advice on transport system priorities, policy and challenges to the Minister, ministerial staff, and executive management.
- Developing and maintaining effective peer level partnerships with relevant stakeholders across TMR, government, industry and community and occasionally represent the department in relation to organisational matters and local, state, and national transport issues

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

- Experience in economic analysis and modelling, data analysis and visualisation.
- Build and sustain relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customerfocused outcomes.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including strong analytical skills and ability to express complex ideas.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and teams to deliver a program of work.
- Demonstrated experience or a degree(s) in Economics or Business / Commerce / Arts with Economics major(s) or post graduate qualifications e.g. economics; transport planning; financial analysis; forecasting and so on.
