Your New Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of strategic policy initiatives that align with government and agency priorities.
  • Preparing clear, well-reasoned policy documents including ministerial briefs, submissions, and correspondence for senior stakeholders.
  • Conducting thorough research and analysis to inform evidence-based policy advice and recommendations.
  • Assisting in the coordination and delivery of policy projects, including planning, reporting, and risk management.
  • Monitoring emerging policy trends and identifying opportunities or risks relevant to the agency's objectives.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal teams, government departments, and external stakeholders.

What You Will Need to Succeed

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Experience in developing and evaluating public policy, ideally with exposure to First Nations contexts or social policy areas.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable policy advice.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience preparing high-level briefs and reports.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
  • Sound understanding of government decision-making processes, including Cabinet, Budget, and parliamentary procedures.

  • 12-month contract with possibility of extension or permanency.

  • Hourly rate of $ super.
