Government agency looking for a Project Support Officer to assist with the department's portfolio management.

**Your new company**
Our client is a business unit within the Queensland Government who work across a range of new build, maintenance, and capital works projects across the state in the education sector. Due to a peak in workload and a healthy project pipeline, they are looking to add a Project Support Officer to their department to assist with the planning and delivery of several education projects.

**Your new role**
As the Project Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support to several areas of the department regarding infrastructure, planning and asset management-related business activities. You will coordinate project management activities in accordance with project plans, budgets, and documentation, as well as liaise with project stakeholders to ensure all issues are being addressed. Additionally, you will provide and maintain database information to promote the effective use of departmental facilities and resources.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will need to have demonstrated previous experience in project support, specifically in regards to reporting for capital works projects. Therefore, you will ideally come from a background in project management, program management, architecture, or town planning, with a relevant discipline in these fields. You will be able to identify strategic initiatives to achieve successful project outcomes within an infrastructure delivery environment or similar. Given this role involves regular project reporting, sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is essential. Experience with education building projects would be beneficial.

**What you'll get in return**
You will be offered an immediate start with an initial 24-month contract with the potential for extension within a government agency based in Brisbane CBD. You will be offered a full-time temporary position banding an A06 rate + super. You will also have the potential opportunity to work from home.
