Government agency looking for a Property Officer in construction to assist with capital works projects.

**Your new company**
Our client is a Queensland government agency based in Brisbane that provides a multitude of products and services to deliver strategic project plans. Their focus areas include community support, housing, digital technology, and the arts, as well as support advice to other government agencies. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to add a Project Officer (Construction) to their branch to assist with their various and ongoing capital works projects.

**Your new role**
As the Project Officer (Construction), you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of the department's social housing projects to ensure they are delivered within scope, time and cost parameters. This will include helping to manage projects at the design, tender, and construction stages through co-ordinating project activities and tasks to meet stakeholder expectations. You will prepare and co-ordinate a range of project documents and records, as well as identify program and projects risks and issues and be able to provide relevant recommendations to address these issues to project stakeholders.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade work with capital works projects. Therefore, you will ideally come from a background in construction or project management, with a relevant discipline in these areas. You will have previous working experience demonstrating skills in construction project management, contract management and program delivery, and stakeholder management. Given your role includes tender and documentation, you will also need a solid understanding of Microsoft programs in order to complete regular project reporting.

**What you'll get in return**
You will be offered an immediate start in a full-time contracted role with a government agency. You will be offered an initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension, paying an A05 hourly rate + super. You will also have the potential opportunity to work from home.
