The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Human Resource Adviser to provide a critical role in the Barwon South West Region.
**About the business unit**
People, Safety and Cultures core functions span the breadth of workplace cultural, and people matters, including human resources policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment, redeployment, and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; occupational health and safety management; and employment regulations.
**About the role**
As the HR Adviser you will provide a responsive and proactive service on a range of operational and strategic human resources related matters including provision of payroll and employment conditions, recruitment and retention of staff, workforce planning, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, dispute resolution, equity and diversity, occupational health and safety and workers compensation.
Some of your duties will include:
- Working closely with the HR Business Partner (BP) and HR Officer provide a full range of generalist human resources services.
- Provide consultancy advice, guidance and solutions to management and staff on a broad range of human resource issues including policies, frameworks, processes, employment conditions, performance management, OH&S, recruitment, learning and development, workforce planning, talent management, succession planning and HR legislation.
- Under guidance of the HR BP liaise with administrative and custodial staff and other relevant individuals/groups with regard to industrial and employee relations issues, escalating more complex cases as required.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in generalist human resources functions
- Experience in providing advice on workplace matters, performance management, workplace change and employee development.
Qualifications or equivalent experience in Human Resources is desirable.

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**:

At interview stage and prior to commencement of employment with the department, you will need to provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 with **three doses** of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of **three doses** of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).
Acceptable evidence includes:
- COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
