Our **Compliance and Conduct - Privacy** team supports clients to navigate existing privacy and data protection laws and prepare for new ones. Through our extensive experience in compliance and our broad market presence, we provide clients with deep insights, advice on industry and regulatory best practices and assist our clients to use their data in a compliance and ethical way. This includes assisting our clients in managing their compliance with privacy regulations including the Australian Privacy Act, Information Privacy Principles, Notifiable Data Breach Scheme (NDB) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The team is made up of highly capable and experienced privacy professionals who have worked across various industries including education, government, energy and financial services. Our team works collaboratively and utilises technology to ensure that clients’ privacy compliance needs are addressed in a way that is efficient, practical and fit for purpose.

**Your Opportunity**

As part of the Regulation & Compliance team, Associate Director (Privacy) will hold the role of National Privacy Liaison Officer and will be responsible for ensuring that the KPMG Australia Firm complies with its regulatory and internal policy obligations in relation to Privacy (Australian and Global), by providing useful, timely and commercial guidance to stakeholders.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Provide specialist advice on privacy, data protection, and GDPR.
- Reviews business processes, policies and practices relevant to privacy and data protection and privacy
- Direct and deliver effective record keeping processes for all data processing operations and decision making to enable compliance monitoring and reporting
- Undertake research on data protection, privacy and GDPR related issues
- Create a strong compliance culture across all aspects of the organisation
- Engage, advise and influence senior stakeholders on privacy and data protection issues
- Manage and execute multiple projects or components of large scale projects to deliver high quality results on time;
- Constructively challenge and provide timely feedback to others where a behaviour is not in line with the Firm’s cultural aspiration.
- Deliver training and education on privacy, data protection and GDPR to the business
- Provide assessments and advise on third party arrangements relevant to data protection and privacy
- Ability to deliver fully integrated solutions and make decisions to best meet business needs and collaborating with other departments as required
- Demonstrating commitment to continuous improvement and providing value adding solutions to our internal client’s problems.
