The opportunity
QBE’s Group Head of Risk Culture and Conduct is a strategic senior role responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategies for further embedding robust risk culture and conduct approaches across QBE’s global operations.
Maintaining an appropriate risk culture and high standards of conduct is key to delivering on our promises to our customers, stakeholders and the public. In this role you will partner with teams across our businesses to ensure QBE’s strategy for risk culture and conduct is understood. At the same time, you will support senior stakeholders across QBE businesses to inform and guide on particular risk culture and conduct matters that might arise
As Group Head of Risk Culture and Conduct you will influence to foster and promote the highest standards of ethical conduct and compliance within our business; drive a complete understanding of conduct risks faced by the enterprise and enable a consistent and continued focus on a risk culture that supports QBE’s risk appetite.
As a senior leadership role in the Group Risk and Compliance function, this role reports to QBE’s Group Chief Compliance Officer with responsibility for delivering appropriate reporting on enterprise risk culture and conduct matters to the Group Board Risk and Capital Committee. As a member of the Group Compliance leadership team, the Group Head of Risk Culture and Conduct will play a key role in contributing to the broader strategic initiatives for Group Compliance while actively enhancing engagement with senior stakeholders right across the business.
Additional key accountabilities include:
- Act as a key member of the Group Compliance leadership team, in leading the function at a strategic and operational level- Lead the Group Conduct program including:
- Develop and deliver a strategy of continued enhancement of enterprise-wide Conduct risk management-
- annual review of QBE’s Code of Ethics and Conduct, and associated training, to set appropriate standards of professionalism and compliance across the enterprise-
- Lead the Group Risk Culture program including:
- Own and further develop the Group Risk Culture Framework-
- Develop a Risk Culture Roadmap to deliver the key priorities of the risk culture strategy-
- Actively engage with multiple stakeholder teams to ensure consistent and collaborative developments across the role portfolio, in particular with the People and Talent and Sustainability teams- Promoting and demonstrating the QBE DNA, providing leadership, development, and feedback to the team- Support QBE’s wider strategic initiatives as required- Influencing policy enhancement and development

This is an opportunity for an experienced risk culture, conduct or compliance professional, with relevant experience and regulatory knowledge. You will possess domain expertise in the conduct and/or risk culture spaces, a strategic mindset and be able to effectively communicate across the business to diverse audiences.
You will be passionate about developing a strong risk culture and excited to operate in a global business across different regulatory jurisdictions.
