The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Hospital Liaison Officer (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health - Identified) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Assist in the provision of effective and efficient service support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inpatients and outpatients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to care of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient contact information and service provision
- Communicate treatment and hospital information to patients and family

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community
- While not mandatory, a health-related Certificate, Diploma or Degree will be highly regarded
- To work on-call services
- Driver's license
- Evidence of vaccination and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (up to 3 months with possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $2753.90 - $3062.60 per fortnight
