The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Hospital Liaison Officers (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander - Identified) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Assist in the provision of an effective and efficient Hospital Liaison Service to ensure support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inpatients and outpatients
- Support in developing links and work collaboratively with Hospital and Health Service staff to strengthen the interface between Hospital and Community
- Advocate for patients and families in the hospital environment, contributing to positive outcomes
- Contribute in planning ongoing pathways for patients, including providing advice and referrals to relevant government and non-government organisations

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time and temporary full time (one permanent full time position and one temporary full time position up to six months, with possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $71 847 - $79 901 per annum or $2753.90 - $3062.60 per fortnight
