**Who we are**

The ICT Operational Services and Infrastructure Branch is responsible for the delivery and support of ICT services across the department, portfolio agencies and to Ministers. Responsibilities include network security and support, the delivery, deployment and support of remote and field ICT and critical incident response.

The ICT Transition and Enabling Taskforce supports the delivery of ICT services across the division and is responsible for the transition to a DCCEEW delivered ICT service. Responsibilities include delivery of the Transition Program, communication and change management, and enabling functions such as the Program Management Office, ICT procurement and contract management, information management for the department, and ICT investment.

**The Job**
- support the strategic direction and forward planning for the work area and contribute to department wide planning,
- contribute to planning and coordinating the acquisition, development, maintenance, and use of ICT systems across the department,
- manage and deliver results within tight time restraints and with competing priorities,
- mentor and support staff to ensure appropriate skillset and training to enable them to conduct their duties,
- bring a strong commitment to maintaining a vibrant, respectful and inclusive workplace culture,
- work with a dynamic team to identify and support capability development and process improvement.

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- Strong IT experience including highly developed leadership skills and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team across a number of disciplines.
- Sound knowledge and experience in successfully managing and delivering results within tight time restraints and with competing priorities.
- Well-developed written and oral communication, liaison and teamwork skills, including the ability to work flexibly in small and medium sized teams.
- Strategically communicate complex technical information that is appropriate for a range of audiences.
- Manage and prioritise the development of IT specifications by engaging with internal stakeholders to identify user needs, allocate appropriate ICT resources and provide user training to support the use of these resources.
- Ensure the effective and successful implementation and maintenance of IT systems to ensure that the organisation’s assets are adequately protected against internal and external threats.
- Flexibility, resilience and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and multi-skilled team.

**Skills and capabilities**
- Ability to identify emerging issues, provide advice, implement solutions and coordinate clear and accurate responses.
- High level of expertise and experience working in information and communication technology related fields.
- Deliver technical functions and expertise, strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to cultivate productive working relationships and manage complex stakeholder relationships.

**Desirable Qualifications**
- Relevant qualifications or extensive experience in ICT including project management and delivery.
- Knowledge of legislative and policy requirements for information management within government, or the ability to quickly acquire that knowledge.

**Eligibility and other requirements**

**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance** - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
