We are the **City of Melbourne**, a place to be bold and inspirational. **About the Role** We are currently looking for a dynamic **Event Projects Coordinator** to join our exciting Experience Melbourne branch. As the Event Projects Coordinator, you will play a vital role in advocating for events within the City of Melbourne by managing a variety of business and operational projects. As part of the Experience Melbourne Branch, this role directly contributes to the delivery of the Experience Melbourne Operational Plan by driving business process improvements and promoting best practices to ensure events are aligned with the city’s goals. In this role, you’ll provide strategic advice on event business and technical matters, offering insightful recommendations to management on complex issues within a dynamic and politically sensitive environment. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects that improve processes and operational procedures to elevate the city’s event landscape. This opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about event coordination, dedicated to operational excellence, and committed to advocating for public engagement through exceptional events. **What you will bring to the Role** - Strong organisational skills with an ability to work within a fast-paced environment to effectively deliver on multiple priorities with competing timeframes. - Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, influence, manage diverse stakeholder needs and expectations, and demonstrate emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and cooperative decision-making. - Demonstrated problem solving skills and understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies. - Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information and influence outcomes. - Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, local laws, statutory and risk management requirements that govern large scale events. - Significant experience in business support, event planning, operations or project management will be highly regarded. - Understanding of the planning and operational considerations for events held in public open space will be highly regarded **What we can offer you at City of Melbourne** - **Attractive Remuneration & Benefits**:Excellent pay package with a range of exciting benefits.
