**The Role**
Within the Logistics Management function an APS6 Logistics Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex logistics management work within an integrated workforce.
An APS6 Logistics Officer may be a team coach or lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows. They are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit.
The duties of an APS6 Logistics Officer occupation in Defence include but are not limited to the
following:
- Develop and contribute to strategies and plans for logistics inventory management and perform activities that support Defence units.
- Accountable to develop policies, procedures and processes for logistics inventory management.
- Compose responses to correspondence, briefs and reports on performance in logistics inventory management.
- Advise on logistics inventory management activities, policies and legislation for Defence units.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities.
- Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
**About our Team**
Joint Health Command (JHC) is responsible for the delivery of healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. JHC is also responsible for the health preparedness of ADF personnel for operations, and the coordination of health units for deployment in support of operations.
The APS6 Logistics Officer will have excellent stakeholder management skills and will be required to communicate with, respond and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on complex operational and administrative issues to achieve Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
