**The Role**
As an APS 6 Maritime Data Officer, working in the Directorate of Maritime Engineering & Logistics (DMEL) within Maritime Support Branch (MARSPT), you will play a critical role in supporting data policy, compliance, and strategic system enhancements across the Maritime.

You will:

- Lead and contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of data governance frameworks and policies;
- Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and organisational data standards;
- Support enterprise data assurance activities, including data quality and risk management;
- Guide development and delivery of data analytics products and reporting solutions to inform decision-making;
- Contribute to planning and implementation of Data Architecture system upgrades and analytics development;
- Provide strategic advice on data handling and policy alignment;
- Resolve problems and implement alternative courses of action.
- A highly organised and detail oriented nature, along with possessing an ability to manage competing priorities will be key to allowing you to deliver project outcomes;
- Engage and negotiate with stakeholders on complex issues to achieve project outcomes; and
- Work collaboratively, building and sustaining effective relationships and providing constructive feedback.

**About our Team**
The Directorate of Maritime Engineering and Logistics (DMEL), within the Maritime Support Branch, is the business owner for the Naval Asset Management System encompassing configuration management, engineering, maintenance, and supply support practices within the Naval Logistics Information Systems. In collaboration with Navy, Defence Digital Group and Industry, we enable maritime enterprises to optimise their naval assets. We deliver standardised solutions that integrate people, processes, tools, data and governance.

Our mission is to provide products and services that enable Maritime Enterprises to optimise Naval Asset Management practices. DMEL help Maritime organisations optimise costs and improve the management of Surface Fleet assets. Our goal is to improve efficiency, risk management, decision-making and assurance of Seaworthiness outcomes for Navy.
