Payroll Manager

This position is primarily responsible for managing all payroll obligations for the company, both domestically and internationally, including:

- Monthly and fortnightly payroll
- Leave transactions
- Superannuation processing and management
- Taxation
- Health care and insurance

This role is a fixed term contract role for 18 months.

**The key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Processing of payroll transactions related to employees and Temporary employees on either a fortnightly or monthly basis through management of external payroll providers
- Processing of third-party compliance transactions, management of the related reporting requirements and payment activities
- Reconciliations for Australian and international accounts payroll reporting obligations
- Monitoring compliance and accuracy with relevant industrial instruments
- Overseeing and monitoring annual projects, including the payment of performance bonuses
- Assist in the design and implementation of enhancements to the payroll system
- Liaising with external stakeholders, including international payroll providers and government bodies
- Accurate preparation of workers' compensation returns, payroll tax returns and Pay as You Go Taxation reconciliations
- Preparation and dissemination of management reporting relating to payroll activities
- Processing of month end journals for all payroll related transactions
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts for payroll liabilities for month end reporting

About you

- Diploma of Payroll Management and/or Certificate IV in Payroll Administration
- Proven experience managing payroll in a complex organisation
- Knowledge of legislative requirements including PAYG, FBT and payroll tax etc.
- Highly detail-oriented in approach to processing, reviewing and managing payroll activities
- Ability to work effectively in a team and respond cooperatively to the requirements of other company members
- Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for continuous improvement
- Ability and desire to continuously learn new skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to champion ideas and achieve consensus within a team, and
- Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines, and
- Ability to operate and plan in a rapidly changing environment
