Exciting opportunity for a WHS Officer to hit the ground running with a well-respected and busy organisation

**Your new company**
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a large organisation specialising in the food manufacturing industry based out of their Central Gold Coast site. A new opportunity has arisen for an individual with expertise in workplace health and safety to join their team as soon as possible on a temporary basis for 2 months ongoing with the potential to be extended.

**Your new role**
As part of this role, you will work with the Human Resources team to support the strategy of WHS improvement within the business through advice, guidance and support to ensure compliance with legislation and WHS practices. This busy role will see you responsible for:

- Assisting in planning WHS initiatives across the business
- Participating in the planning and implementation of WHS audits to ensure compliance with systems
- Assessing and evaluating any risks to the company and develop action plans
- Providing advice, information, and instruction on local WHS issues
- Helping manage risks and hazards across business locations
- Reporting and investigation of incidents, injuries and hazards and implement control measures
- Performing ad-hoc duties as required in relation to WHS

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered you will demonstrate the following:

- Demonstrated experience in WHS auditing, risk management, incident investigation and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience leading WHS consultation and communication.
- High level of understanding of WHS legislation
- Demonstrated ability to develop WHS programs for business improvement
- Qualifications in Business, HR, Risk Management or similar
