The North Eastern Public Health Unit (NEPHU) is one of nine public health units in Victoria; three in metropolitan Melbourne and six covering regional Victoria. Together these units form a coordinated network, working in partnership with the Department of Health to deliver a comprehensive public health program for Victoria. The NEPHU is led and coordinated by Austin Health and works in partnership with Northern Health and Eastern Health in a networked operational structure with responsibility spanning approximately 1.81m people living in the northeast of metropolitan Melbourne. The NEPHU is proud of its diverse multidisciplinary team who reflect the community we serve.
**About the role**:
The NEPHU Quality and Risk Coordinator works in collaboration with the Governance and Corporate Support Lead and the broader leadership team to coordinate quality and risk initiatives at NEPHU. The key functions of this position are to coordinate the unit’s quality framework implementation and ongoing reviews, monitor and report on the quality and risk management plans and activities, to oversee the risk management reporting process, and to support the unit in embedding continuous improvement strategies.
**Essential Knowledge and skills and selection criteria**:
- Qualifications in health, quality/risk management, or business or equivalent work-related experience
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating the quality and risk function within a health setting
- Broad knowledge of contemporary Quality and Risk principles, best practice, and the statutory and regulatory framework in which they operate
- Highly developed communication skills with experience in report writing and presentations
- An ability to engage employees at all levels to encourage an active involvement in continuous improvement and risk management activities
- Excellent attention to detail with highly developed organisational and timemanagement skills
- Intermediate-advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Risk Management Databases)
