We’re currently working with a charitable organisation based in the easter suburbs, they’re looking to bring on a Quality, Compliance, Risk and Policy Specialist to be responsible for timely and accurate reporting to federal and state community housing regulators.

Also supporting state managers to achieve key outcomes through policy provision, coordination and expert advice nationally. This role will be pivotal in supporting all non-financial support functions within the program, working closely with key stakeholders including internal, state housing departments and regulatory bodies to achieve the long-term goals of the organisation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure compliance with statutory, contractual & organisational standards.
- In conjunction with the GM, complete the quarterly quality and compliance reports.
- Assess product, compliance, and operational risks to develop and implement risk management strategies.
- Ensure timelines for compliance, contractual and organisational reporting timelines are met.
- Be responsible for the contribution, oversight and maintenance of the risk management plan and risk register.
- Identify and discuss emerging compliance and risk issues with the GM.
- Chair the Quality Management Group meetings held every quarter.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, contractual & organisational standards.
- Maintain requirements of Community Housing registrations nationally.
- File appropriate reports with all regulatory agencies in consultation with State Managers.
- Verify that Chintaro is up to date with latest property and tenancy movements and property information. Validate data on a quarterly basis.
- Monitor and report on incidents and complaints received, ensuring Solvsafety is updated and issues closed out within KPI’s.
- Support and lead State Managers to a positive workplace culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure policies and procedures related to compliance and contractual requirements activities are established, monitored, reviewed and accessible, and observed within the internal business units.
- Ensure all overarching policies and procedures are circulated and implemented at all levels within the program, including all governance and probity areas for the board.
- Assist with the coordination, development and implementation of the strategic and business plans for Housing in alignment with national housing strategy and plans.
- Support and coordinate State Managers to maintain national consistency for all required reports under the regulatory systems.
- Implement and regularly review policies and procedures for consistency across all states, noting local differences.
- In conjunction with the CEO and GM, develop a tender response / tracking database nationally.
- Support the preparation of program responses to government inquiries, white papers or policy position.

**Required Skills & Specialisms**:

- 5+ years’ experience in quality, risk and compliance
- Sound knowledge of housing regulatory systems nationally within the social housing and community welfare sector, or equivalent (e.g. Aged care).
- Understanding the framework around government funding and affordable and community housing.
- Exposure to government relations and policy advocacy.
- Excellent written and verbal skills, and broad communication and influencing skills
- Tertiary qualification in community housing, community services or relevant discipline (Desirable)
- Experience in information systems including databases and document management systems (Desirable).
