**Position Information**:
Engadine Public School is situated in central Engadine, close to the Royal National park. The school has classes from Kindergarten to Year 6 with a current enrolment of approximately 415 students. The school has four support classes meeting the learning needs of students with autism and mild and moderate intellectual disabilities. School enrolment includes 19% of students with a non-English speaking background and 2% of students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background. Engadine Public School provides a positive and inclusive environment in which students are encouraged to be safe, respectful and responsible learners within a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework.

This is a valued executive position based at Engadine Public School and requiring travel to support the surrounding schools of the Sutherland network. The Assistant Principal Learning and Support is also an integral part of the Delivery Support - Team Around a School.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,

Approval to teach students with learning and support needs primary and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs primary in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.

1. Proven ability to build capacity of Learning and Support teams and communities of schools through the facilitation of quality professional learning, skills training and peer coaching.

2. Support Learning and Support teams in schools and other school staff in the development and successful implementation of adjusted educational programs for students with additional learning and support needs.

3. Ability to work collaboratively with Student Wellbeing Support to enhance inclusive practices and promote positive student behaviour.

4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to effectively manage competing priorities while providing support for schools that is efficient, effective and easy to access.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
