**Your new role**
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to oversee and manage our student academic misconduct processes. In this role, you will lead a team of four staff and be responsible for ensuring that all incidents of student academic misconduct are dealt with in a timely, effective, and fair manner, while promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
This is a varied role, in which you will provide advice, assistance and support to stakeholders both internal and external to the university. You will work with staff from all levels across the university, including Faculty and Executive members, as well as, external agencies, including the WA Ombudsman.
**In this role, you will**:
- Plan, organise, manage, and review the operations of the Student Conduct Coordinator team, ensuring equitable allocation of work priorities, and development of staff through performance and career development reviews.
- Exercise judgement and initiative, delivering administrative processes that support timely and sensitive case resolutions that are consistent, fair, and ethically sound.
- Ensure that the University’s obligations are met in respect to relevant legislative requirements (e.g., Higher Education Standards Framework.)
- Conceptualise, develop, and undertake periodic reviews of relevant Statutes, Rules, policies, procedures, and operational processes with relevant stakeholders, leading and making improvements where identified.
- Represent and/or deputise for the Associate DVC Academic and Academic Registrar internally and externally as required and provide support to other team members to cover periods of peak load and staff leave/absence as appropriate.
**To be successful, you will have**:
- Extensive experience and proven management expertise within a complex organisation, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.
- Deep knowledge of existing and emergent issues relating to academic integrity in tertiary education.
- Ability to provide effective leadership and direction, promoting a solution focused, collegial, and positive values-based team culture.
- Compassionate approach to case-handling and a clear commitment to ethically sound outcomes and procedural fairness.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to nurture collaborative relationships across all levels of interaction.
You will be experienced in dealing with a variety of academic misconduct issues and will have a strong grasp of the challenges facing tertiary education. You will be committed to finding defensible and ethically sound outcomes for the cases you oversee. This would suit an individual who has an analytical mindset, with strong communication skills to deliver information and outcomes with compassion and respect.
