The way we work continues to evolve and at Zurich we are committed to creating ways of working that ensure you are helping to create a brighter future.- An exciting opportunity exists to join Zurich’s Life & Investments Finance team as Head of Actuarial Insights & Projects.- This diverse leadership role will act as a conduit for business experience and insights, delivering actions and initiatives through data and automation in an agile environment. Leading a team of six, you will manage Insights & Projects in the actuarial context, as well as provide support and advice to the Chief Life Actuary. Working with various teams across the business, you will help to effect optimum utilisation of Zurich’s overall business assets and resources in Australia and New Zealand.- Let’s create a brighter future together, let’s make a differenceYour key responsibilities will include:

- Driving innovation in analysis through data analytics such as use of machine learning and GLMs, and leveraging Zurich’s journey to a single cloud based data lake
- Supporting Finance and other functions through the analysis of experience data and the provision of insights on reserving, claims and retention.
- Managing experience investigations and recommending assumptions to the Appointed Actuary
- Delivering industry submissions in relation to experience
- Working with product and pricing to use emerging experience and data to drive strategy
- Reporting on New Business Value to local management and Group, including understanding and analysis on drivers of value
- Presenting investigation results to key business stakeholders
- Managing the annual Financial Condition Report process
- Supporting the Appointed Actuary on CPS 320 and Actuarial Advice Framework matters including pricing review.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia or equivalent body
- At least 10 years post qualification experience including senior actuarial and management roles
- Strong knowledge of local statutory/regulatory guidelines and rules in the Australian life insurance industry.
- Deep understanding of actuarial processes and techniques in a life insurance context
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build and mentor high performing teams
- Experience partnering with multi-disciplinary Finance teams
- An analytical mindset and innate ability to implement solutions
- Demonstrated experience in writing Board-level reports
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
