**About the role**

Primary job requirements involve assisting the allied health professional in the delivery of allied health services. This role will include assisting in the provision of independent transition programs in both the pool and the gym, and assisting with pool maintenance.

As an allied health assistant (AHA) you may be expected to rotate across programs and work in various locations and programs within BHS - acute inpatient, subacute and community programs as required. You will be required to work for and under the supervision of various allied health professionals (AHP).

**Key Responsibilities**
- Therapy as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional
- Administrative tasks associated with the smooth functionality of the pool and gym programs.
- Involvement in quality and research activities.

**Skills and experience**
- A knowledge of team processes and roles of team members working within a multi-disciplinary setting and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels within teams in both oral and written communications.
- An understanding of the Allied Health Assistant position within the Allied health team and the broader BHS.
- The ability to monitor, evaluate and modify own performance.
- Demonstrated abilities of initiative and self-motivation and tact.
- Demonstrated attributes of empathy and client centred focus.
- The willingness to accept responsibility and work under limited direction.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and evidence based practice in allied health.
- Demonstrated capacity to use technology including I-Pads.
