**About the organisation**
State Library Victoria (SLV) has a rich heritage, is a cornerstone of our society, with a mission to promote universal education and social justice, create well-informed communities, and encourage participative democracy. Now embarking on an ambitious four-year strategy SLV realises it is at a critical juncture in its evolution. The newly created CDO position is part of a wider commitment to match the current speed of societal change and deliver innovative solutions that enhance the lives of millions throughout Victoria and around the world.

**About the role**
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) will design and implement a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns to SLV’s mission. Driving digital adoption, and enhancing customer experience, the CDO will be responsible for championing transformation activities, building an effective operating model, and leading integrated technology, digital, design and innovation teams. In addition, building and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders, establishing commercial partnerships, pursuing new funding opportunities, are all important components of the role. This is one of the most pivotal positions in SLV’s Executive and will be a vital contributor to the organisations continued evolution.

**About you**
You have developed an advanced understanding of the interdependencies between digital, technology, and business areas and enjoy finding creative solutions to complex challenges. You will have successfully designed and implemented effective digital strategies on several occasions; you will be a fantastic ambassador for digital, a nuanced rapport builder and will have digital substance. A deep understanding of strategy and delivery, Agile, innovation, CX, UX and all areas of technology is key. You will be comfortable with ambiguity and possess an ability to deliver successful outcomes while dealing with the paradoxical nature of people, change, altruistic sentiment and commercial necessity.
